Changes to Curriculum Structure

We are excited to simplify the curriculum structure in Twyll, making client curriculum management even easier. Starting August 7, goals will be removed, and programs will display independently under each domain. This will streamline the client's curriculum from goals, programs, and targets to just programs and targets. This change will occur automatically, with all former goal fields seamlessly migrated to the corresponding programs. Supervisors will not need to make any changes to a client's curriculum for this update to take effect.

Key Changes

The previous curriculum structure was composed of goals, programs, and targets. Goals could contain multiple related programs, and programs could contain multiple related targets. We’re simplifying the structure of the Twyll curriculum to contain only programs and targets.

Curriculum prior to change

Curriculum with goals removed

Following this change, users will observe the following:

  • Goals will be removed from the curriculum and will no longer be editable or manageable. All programs will remain under their associated domain and can be reorganized within a domain using the reorder programs functionality.
  • The following goal fields will be automatically migrated to the program:
    • Goal
    • Interventions
    • Date Introduced
    • Estimated Mastery Date
    • Actual Mastery Date
    • Guardian Training
    • Generalization Guidance
  • Linked Goals and Free Operants will be updated to Linked Programs and Free Operants. Any free operants that were formerly linked to a goal will instead be linked to all programs under the goal.

Impact to Program Templates

We have added the new goal and interventions fields to program templates to match the newly combined goal and program. Curriculum supervisors may wish to update program templates with these new fields.

Impact to Documents

The @CURRICULUM@ document smart text will automatically have all goal configuration options removed and new document templates will no longer reference goals. No changes will need to be made to document templates. In progress documents will not be affected.
