Twyll Goes Off The Grid: Introducing Offline Mode

Beginning August 12, Twyll will introduce new capabilities that allow sessions conducted using the In Session Experience to be scheduled and run offline.

Upon logging into Twyll, the necessary information for conducting sessions offline will automatically sync to the user's device. The sync status can be viewed from the top right corner of the screen. While the device will automatically check for updates every hour while connected to the internet, users can also manually trigger a sync using the "Sync Now" button.

If a session has not been previously scheduled, users can create an "Ad-Hoc" session, which will take them directly into the In Session Experience for a given client.

Conducting a Session

Running a session offline works the same as conducting a session online! Clinicians can add observations, notes, and view curriculum information just as if they were online. Please note that video recording, curriculum attachments, and charts are not available while offline.

To ensure clinicians can view all observations, users should not refresh or leave the In Session Experience while offline. If users attempt to leave the In Session Experience, they will see a warning that changes may not be saved if they exit. While observations will not be lost, due to encryption and security requirements, users will not see previously recorded observations upon reloading the In Session Experience until the device reconnects to the internet.

Wrapping up a Session

Upon completing a session, users will be taken to a new page informing them that their session has been completed. To view a session in the post-session summary or to write a session note, users must reconnect to the network.

Syncing Sessions

After reconnecting to the network, all recorded observations will automatically sync back to the server. In the rare event that multiple users documented a session simultaneously, the device that was offline first will have its observations recorded for any overlapping time periods. Devices must connect to the internet while logged in once every 7 days to sync session data.

Currently, only the session index and In Session Experience pages are available for offline use. Clinicians will not be able to view the client profile, treatment plan, or complete documentation-type sessions while offline.

We are excited to roll out this new functionality. If you have any questions, please contact your Twyll representative.
